Proof_07, thanks for highlighting this.

Russian authorities have issued warnings against using Bitcoin, saying the virtual currency could be used for money laundering or financing terrorism and that treating it as a parallel currency is illegal. However, it's not clear that it would be illegal to accept this prize. I will make the prize available, and leave the decision to the winner.

Definitely in, seems interesting ^ ^, Is this the very first time lichess hosting a surprise variant?
Yes, and also the first time lichess hosts a tournament with a prize!

Usually, online tournaments with prizes are impossible, due to cheaters. Today, using a surprise variant, plus lichess advanced cheat detection tools, this becomes a reality!
Starts at the same time as Arsenal - West Ham :(
Nevertheless, but i am in!
I will try to do it but it will be hard. you should do this more often! but if it is more often no money prize
Sounds fun! We'll see if this event features a game/variant I haven't heard of yet!
I'm in! Solely because of the love for chess, and I would like to know, what is the secret chess variant you mean, Mr. ChessWhiz
