This is why I don't play rapid games

I knew I had him, but my time was running low.
Rarely I am under time pressure in Classic games, so this is a tough defeat to swallow.
And I will carry this pain inside me... forever... By that I mean, until a worse defeat comes along ;)

This being said, it wasn't a good game on neither parts, also I experience that very often classic players, don't use the time they have on the board. My opponent could perhaps had avoided the potential checkmate?
Use the time you have on the clock.

All respect to my opponent, it was a fair and enjoyable game ;)
And respect to all you rapid players out there.
In this 15+15 game you spent 155 seconds on the blunder 24...Rf5. How did you arrive at that move?
My view on this is d4 is the key square, if white isn't playing it (5. Bb5), then you lock down that protector with Bg4.
Always at least consider the most forcing moves (checks, captures). 33... Rh1+ 34. Ke2 Re3+ 35. Kd2 Rhxe1 was completely over, and also one move later 34... Rh1+ 35. Ke2 Rhxd1 36. Bxd1 Rxc3 would have netted you an extra piece. It's not checkers - if you can take, it doesn't mean you have to.
