Study openings is important

Tactics: Are we a joke to you?

Nice win. Though openings are pretty important for a certain level of player, tactics are everywhere. Studying tactics is even more important than openings.
The Smith Morra can be trappy. I'd say that anyone who plays the Sicilian should be prepared for it in order to save time in quicker games.

Studying opening is useless!
One should study middle game and endgame a lot!
And for not to lose like that (the game you showed) one should start normal with book moves. Also, one shouldn't play like that (capture) without calculating what will happen.
