SILMAN - How to reasses your chess, 4th. EDITION (Book)

Has anybody read the book? If so, what was your impression? Important: 4th. edition!!
it is good. Very long so it takes quite effort to finish.
It is an amazing book !!! Very clear idea plus some tests after each chapter so you can see what you have understood or not.

After reading it I improved of 200 points.

Be carefull it is a very huge book. Take your time to read it and it is better to play move on your board to understand everything.

I really love J.Sillmann 's books.

He gives you concrete idea of how to assess a position. It is not like this variation wins or loses ... It is just considering imbalances of the position how should i develop a plan ? Every chapter talks about an imbalance: Knight vs bishop, static vs dynamic ... What stroke me the most was whenhe explains grand master games and he assess the position and said what would you play ? Everything is crystal clear and you are like obviously this move for this reason... and then it is the correct move. He gives you important tools to play strategic chess.

Now i am reading his complete endgame course. A great book as well. I need to finish it ^^

Ps: 4th edition => he said that he changed some tests in the end of chapters plus he added some bonus chapters like how to prepare a tournament ... with some questions of students or fan in the end concerning that book in previous edition
Thank you all! Slugy, may I ask what elo-rating you achieved after increasing 200 points? Mine is around 1800 classical chess over-the board.
I went from 1600 to 1800 after reading the book. To me it is a must read.
I have the 3rd Edition from awhile ago, but it's still on the shelf. Now that I'm getting back into chess, do you think getting the 4th Edition is required? Or should I just go ahead with what I've got?
I have the 3rd addition and I can't imagine anything being added.

Anything Silman didn't cover is covered by extremely thorough GM teachers like Ashley, Seirawan, Kraai and others that explain BOTH certain ideas, AND the application of certain ideas.

'Reassess Your Chess' will set your brain starting on the right track.
In the book it says it's targeted for 1400-2100 players, but others can of course enjoy the book too.
