Should I play more?

Should I play more classical to improve my chess and have more time to think?
I would play more classical chess and play less classical chess. That way you get the benefit of both.
slow chess is always the best way to improve in practicality. GMs often as well as any good coach will tell you blitz chess is best for only having fun but slow chess is something you can use for improvement towards OTB event games. But if youre not looking to go to events and become a strong OTB player then everything you do in chess is just for fun so why care about rating and improving in an effective way? Blitz and fast games will in time gradually make you better I suppose via you repeatedly learning what is a mistake and whats not, but blitz games often are not the same quality of games as classical games and longer rapid formats, so understand that when playing blitz and ask yourself what do you want from playing games online? Do you want to use them for serious event practice where you try and always find the best moves and to improve using each game as OTB practice or do you simply wish to do chess as a hobby? Then take the path which you decide is for you.
If you love chess or want to love chess you usually enjoy studying chess playing & watching how well you can do & these days there are so many ways to study & play with computers that are available that are stronger than the world chess champion ... chess books ... videos . Many people swear by lessons ... Myself I started tournaments in 1983 & cstudied by myself sometimes at Labates much at home as well took 5 years to gain 996 rating points OTB .
In the Modern Society wherr time is scarce, I won't play Classical specially Online. 15/10 or G+30 is enough to think good moves. It's delusional one can find the Bedt moves under Classical time control. Most important is Analyze the game specially lost games. Read books about your weakness. Ex. Silmans Endgame Course for endgame weakness, Fundamental Chess Openings for opening, Giants of Strategy for middle game. If money isn't a problem, seek a professional chess coach.
