Rating system

I feel the rating is system is at the current point deficient - when i win a match i am rewarded with a meager amount of rating but when i don't win i tend to lose a lot more regardless of prior wins making it next to impossible to gain rating, therefore the system needs to be revised

Rating is not supposed to reflect how many wins you have, there is already a separate number for that on your profile. It's not impossible to get a higher rating, basically practice and learn how to play better and avoid mistakes.
