Rating limit?

<Comment deleted by user>
@VINCENTYU 3999 is the maximum rating that one can have on the site, if that's what you're asking
That's what I thought, there's no limit. I read once though where a lower limit had been set, artificially it sounded like.

A better question is what is the highest rating attained on Lichess. Just look at the Leader Board, for Rapid it's 2877 right now, for all of the standard variants (all the other variants too) it's Nykterstein (Magnus) with 3246.
All rating system tend to have minimun and in lichess that is 600 and FIDE 1000. And there is point to it. Lets assume someonve would really be 400. That would require something like almost never seeing a threat. to get to 600 is probably enough to see somethin like one out of three threats or so i.e development from 400 to 600 can happen in hours or during one game so there no need tohave some gain those points by playing.

There is a function that checks if rating is sensible and there is limit 4000 but i did not see any one calling it during rating calculation I may have missed that. If did then there is limit of 3999 but that is unlikely.

But upper limit is kinda not needed, If carslee is about 3300 and engines ar 400 poits above so 3700. So 3900 would mean a perfomance where person gets 75% of points against top engine in a match. Given that losses on white amongst top engines are almost non existent that is not possible. Either in foreseeale future on perhaps never
