Question regarding provisional rating

So, my alt which I'm using to prep for an upcoming comp (People snoop lichess profiles at this comp, so I'll keep it anon) played 1 rapid game. 1500? provisional, first game on the site for the alt. Played and beat a 1750
I gained 514 rating from the win.
How? I'd assume it has something to do with the calculation of rating deviation against opponent rating and performance but it's still wild that I can gain 500+ rating from one game.

It would have been easier if I could have checked that game.
Although, whenever you beat a higher rated opponent you get more rating. Especially when your rating is provisional, since then, you can get 200 points from a same-level opponent. So, if your opponent is 200 points higher rated than you, you can easily gain 400-500 elo. This happens most at the absolute STARTING level. For example I myself have 12 games in this account which I created mainly for forum posting (check @ayaanshgaur12 [main]) and I gained 250 points in my first HORDE game with a guy who was same rated than me (1500~). As soon as you play more games, your deviation decreases and eventually you only get 5 elo points after beating same elo opponent.
If you have not checked already, then read this for more information: lichess.org/faq#provisional

You started with a rating deviation of 500, are you surprised?
