Although I'm not exactly sure what any of this means (in practical terms).
@MrPushwood ... So many people just do what they want to do & don't play the moves the position demands of them . Sometimes the two coincide but most of the time they don't
I understand want you mean. If the position demands an attack on the king, you should do it. On the other hand, if it demands play on the queenside, you should do that. Too many players are just looking for an attack against the king.
But tbh it is not so easy to understand what the position demands...
