No, i dont know. I'd say of 30.000 players about 100 (a few WMF & WIM). Makes 0.3 percent :D
probably 99% of lichess users are anonymous so it's impossible to give a sensible percentage. My guess would be under 1%. Which imo is a bit sad. We as a community should do everything in our power to make sure that both women and men feel welcome.

@pawngrinder To be fair he did say he was just curious, while it could be possible he was looking to use lichess as tinder 2.0 chess edition, it wasn't really implied. I'm sure that there are people who set out to use lichess for those purposes, in fact, I've encountered a handful but that's very rare.
As for the actual question at hand, I've only encountered a handful of women on here that I know are women, but really it could be a far greater number since I don't normally make conversation with people here and if I do I don't open it up by asking them their gender lol.

@daniel921126, just to avoid any misunderstanding: Lichess is a website specialized in chess. If you are interested about some statistic analysis about gender percentage, well, all data you need it's already available on FIDE website. Good look!

Also my main interest in this site has been and is playing chess, having spent more than 1300 hours playing chess in here.

In correspondence games most people are quite responsive to chat, in my 50 games ive met one girl so far, ive won all 3 games pretty convincingly against her and probably bombarded her too much with improving tips, she hasnt logged in since then.
