New Time Controls Nerf History

I played Rapid 10+0 and Classical 15+15. Used the Rapid games to experiment and try stuff out and took the Classicals seriously for rating. Now the nearest equivalent is 15+10 and counts as a Rapid and the new Classicals don't interest me. It's stupid to not have an increment in the 30+0 as you actually have LESS time than a Rapid 15+10 after 90 moves. The 30+20 format means I need to allow a couple of hours to be sure of completing a long game and can be left hanging for over 30 minutes if my opponent decides to time out. So my Classical rating is now meaningless and my Rapid (which I don't care about) is indistinguishable from the 15+x games which I used to measure my progress. I'm pretty sure some of my Classical games would have had a different result if they'd been played as 30+0 - time pressure is a real thing.
The best thing would have been to have reset all the ratings when they moved the goalposts. Now if I want a reset I have to start with a new account and lose nearly 3 years worth of history. :(

Or you could just create a game in the lobby as 15+15.....

If u create 15+15 in a lobby that means that fewer players are available as they can only access it through the website version of lichess. Also, there is no quick pairing, I agree with Gyryth, wonder why my post was deleted.

I'm very happy with the new long time controls in the quick game search. Thank you, lichess team! We really needed something like 30+20 for serious play online. And a classical option finish, without increment must be available as well.
