@Drmrboss I can't believe that, because cheaters ARE detected and banned, but I don't know the process that goes into it. Is it a very scientific one? Or is it more of an educated guess? is there a way to screen my opponents for cheaters so I don't have to play non genuine users? Or is it really hard to tell?
Btw,
@YouGetNoRest is long, you can just call me YGNR for short.
github.com/clarkerubber/irwinActually I got some good feeling whether someone is a cheater. Often you notice that there is a sleepwalker‘s safety, even GM play often more pragmatically.
@Sarg0n wow, machines are studying humans now? That's actually really cool, i'm checking it out.
Back in 2018 I met two cheaters total (in like my whole time playing here I think). I've only met 1 this year.
I reported both in 2018, and one of them got banned within two weeks. It's possible to play a near perfect game (I have one from against the stockfish 5 bot, but I had a average centipawn loss of 6.
I'm pretty sure lichess bans at least some hackers, but I'm not sure about what percentage get banned.
Edit:
I've also memorized most of the beginning opening of the common openers, so if someone follows up with the correct moves in the opening of what I've memorized (like 3 people a month do it), then I get suspicious.
@Chesslegendmaster I don't think that centipawn loss is likely to be a criteria because some games like fools mate it would be easy to get 100% or if you were against someone who hung pieces every move same deal. There are probably types of positions that are easy to play vs positions that are hard to play.
Also, I had a game earlier where my average centipawn loss was 4 so it might not even be that rare depending on how your opponents play.
Also your expected average centipawn really depends on the strength of your opponent, e.g. perfect game against player rated 400 points below you = unsurprising, perfect game against player rated 400 points above you = surprising

sites.google.com/view/patrick-coulombe-phd/chess-analytics/predicting-rating-from-centipawn-lossOP: Didn't notice but I recently played against an obvious cheater and lichess has yet to ban him so yes it does get frustrating.
@YouGetNoRest I'd like to share it but it'll show the name of the cheater which I think isn't allowed here.
