lichess analysis board changed to hce for me, is this normal?
To all the people complaining about the team updates, this is my say on the topic.
Look, I understand how you feel, and I understand why you are upset. I personally have dropped from 336 to 272 members in my own team, a 50+ member drop, and I've witnessed all the teams I've known, lead, and loved, suffer from significant losses too. So I understand how you feel, and I understand why you are angry.
HOWEVER, however, I do believe this is for the better of lichess. We have to remember this is Lichess.org, not MYchess.org. Lichess.org is a FREE website for ALL, not just us team makers. Lichess may be big in teams, and in forums, however we must remember that this is a CHESS website, not social media, and a lot of the players here are here for the chess, NOT the teams.
Take it like this, if you joined lichess to find a better alternative, for chess.com, and only cared about improving and practicing chess, but then you got completely bombarded with JOIN MY TEAM messages, how would you feel? I'd say not so great. Lichess is only implementing this upgrade to prevent these messages. And come on, this team limit is still reasonable, I notice many of the teams Im in are either dead, fan clubs, or completely pointless. There's no point in arguing against this update.
We need to remember this is Lichess.org, a place for playing chess. Not for racking in members in a team. Its the quality of the members, not the quantity.

It's worth explaining a bit more about the new team maximum.
Lichess is experimenting with the performance results of reducing max team membership. We must have a limit on team membership because it has a high impact on heap cache usage. Additionally, some people are abusing membership and this will reduce their impact on site performance. People who are currently in more teams will retain their membership. It was originally set to 100, we are reducing it to 15+(age of account in weeks) with a 50 maximum. This may not be the final limit that we settle on as we will continue to monitor its impact on both the site performance and abuse levels.

50 teams are more than enough in my opinion. There's no way you can be active in all 50 teams that you are in.
