I'm not getting enough elo in lichess, yet I gain up to 50+ in chess.com

@praise086

If you read the thread you will understand that there is effectively no difference.

If you have larger fluctuations on one platform this is because your rating deviation is higher there (you haven't played many rated games for that particular category lately).

Rating deviation pal, if you reach the maximum (I guess minimum actually) rating deviation then you will only gain and lose about 6 points when you play with people who have a similar rating

Gaining 50 rating in a single game is silly and that would completely change rating systems

Also if you play with people lower rated than you, you will lose more rating and gain less

Maybe do some research before posting nonsense on the forum first?

It can happen but only if (a) your rating is still quite unstable (e.g. my last two rapid rating updates were +59 and -48) or (b) you win against someone much higher rated. Or something in between. With rock stable rating and against similar rated opponent it indeed wouldn't make any sense, that's the point of having _stable_ rating.

> I know lichess and chess.com have different rating systems, but holy fucking shit on Lichess I lose up to 100 elo in 12 hours, and takes me a week to even get back to 100 because I get 5 points per round. Why do I sometimes get 3 points for a round? WHY DO I LOSE 10 POINTS AND WHENEVER I WIN I GAIN 5 POINTS? I don't fucking get it. Sometimes it's not even my fault; sometimes the screen doesn't FUCKING LOAD and I have to abort or even worse resign. Speaking of which, WHY DO YOU LOSE 5-10 ELO WHEN I WASN'T EVEN BEGINNING THE FUCKING GMAE
> My only choice that could get me out of 800 elo is to relentlessly grind everyday FOR HOURS ON END, for at most 3 to 7 points per round that get immediately blown by a random lost game that lost, which I know is how people gain more elo, but I've been analyzing my games,

If you encounter any problem but are not sure that you can fully explain it - do not throw accusations and curses. Lichess take away so much rating from you only because perhaps you have not played enough games to stabilize it. The fact that lichess take away more from you than they give is only indicated by the fact that you may have lost to a player whose rating is significantly lower than yours and that you won against an opponent whose rating is also significantly lower. It is logical that in this case you end up with "-" rather than "+" according to your rating before
