How do I improve on my chess?

I find it tough to play endgames and counter openings as I doubt I have the foresight to think ahead of 4-5 moves.
I want to reach 1700s in Blitz but it's been real tough these days making silly mistakes and missing oppurtunities.
Will be glad if someone above 1700s can help me how they learn, improve and develop
First reach 1700 in classical and rapid(learnt these from tpr)
Reaching 1700 in those time formats require basic endgame and positional knowledge
You also need to be fluent in tactics
EDIT : Just saw that you are already a 1700 in rapid. Well then work on those things which I mentioned and practice them thoroughly so that you can execute them quickly (quick execution is a basic skill in blitz)
@BlindfoldedNewbie I was always told practice makes perfect as a kid, but I learned a better saying.

practice makes permanent.

practice the wrong thing or the right thing the wrong way and you won't get much better.

so, find out what to practice and how to practice as step one. then practice makes perfect as step two works.
Blitz has a stronger player pool, so for 1700 blitz you first need 1800 rapid or 1900 classical.
You have a good 2000 puzzle rating. How long do you take per puzzle? If you want to be good at blitz, then train tactics at blitz speed.
Edit : So I'm playing rapid now and pushing to 1800

A game I just played
Quit blitz. This is the best chess advice I ever received all thanks to IM Bartholomew. Playing rapid improves your calculation and thinking skills faster than blitz would. Naturally, you would also get better at blitz if you get better at rapid. Also, put in the effort to actually improve your chess, watch chess videos, follow tournaments e.t.c
modirox I am assuming that you picked your opponent from the lobby(deduced from the time control)
It would be better if you play tournaments where you can get paired with stronger opponents and thus learn more
Alternatively you can also pick higher rateds from the lobby
Read books, especially classical games (old world champion's games) when there were no engines yet. Then practice, practice.
