Chess is not a nice hobby

@Onyx_Chess
I never meant playing over your games is a struggle...I meant chess itself is a struggle, a personal one...it doesn't matter how good you get you will always be matched with people of your level...a 1200 v 1200 is as much a struggle as a 2200 v a 2200...of course I didn't mean playing through your games is a struggle!
You appear to certainly have different view's than me generally....you also appear to love the sound of your own voice....it doesn't make you right.
Good luck in your chess

Ah OK. Now I see how you meant that one point.
Thank you for that clarification.

And, for the record, sometimes I do actually enjoy the sound of my voice, but I also sometimes enjoy the sound of your voice, too.

I would be completely miserable if I were on this planet all by myself.

Chess wouldn't be the same.

And, also, of course being well enunciated and proficient in my arguments doesn't necessarily make me right...being exactly correct makes me right.

Also, I owe you a sincere "thank you" because now I'm going to go spend the rest of the day meditating on the ways that people think and how that affects their perspectives, I'm going to carefully consider how I'd like my mind to be, and then I'm going to make some very conscientious choices about how I handle my thoughts and how I'd be wise to very carefully respect my mind moving forwards.

I recognize your paradigm in myself and I can't possibly excise it from my psyche quick enough.
Thank you for reminding me that I have some important issues to keep improving upon.

Have a good one, Nick, and good luck with your chess, as well.
I can't wait to start playing OTB again, just about a week :) Then I'll stop playing bullet and finally enjoy the beautiful side of chess, not the annoying side that's so prevalent online.
I find chess becomes a less nice hobby the higher the rating you climb, but if you ever do make it to the top of the mountain it seems like the top guys have an awfully nice view once they are there.
Chess is a tricky hobby and it does require setting clear aims and values.

To me, the greatest joy of chess comes from the human interaction.

Finding and building friendships in real life.

Analyzing games together.

Having fun, exploring ideas.

The competitive part is actually the least joyful and most frustrating part of chess.

All the best,

Rauan
Please keep the Volume on your computer a little lower so it Doesn't seem like a Smashing of pieces on squares that Intimidates you . Also Chess must be studied but can be a lot of fun to study games where so much is a surprise as the shots seem to come from no where . Chess is so obviously an unbelievable experience with so much happening on every move ... Sometimes I like refuting unsound play & enjoy this most ... Justice Prevails >>> On the chessboard lies and hypocrisy fail
For introverts, chess is an ideal hobby. The player don't need friends or relatives to play with as there are thousands available online of similar personality.

I recall Bobby Fischer adopting a very strict religion, you can look that part up. The point is that this religion forbids board games. He had no problem completely ignoring that rule, but apparently took the rest seriously. Although we know in hindsight thats a bad example, but upon further examination there are indeed more than one religion that forbids board games or games in general. In my opinion, it comes down to intent. If you kill 1 million people in a game, realistically or figuratively, does that damage your karma/spirit whatever your word is? Buddhist monks say no, if you realize its just lights on a screen. Break it down to pure math, and your on the spiritual path. But if you accept the illusion and take delight in murder, then damage occurs.
