Chess as a demonstration sport in Pyeongchang 2018 ?

In 2015, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited South Korea and said the Head of the Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympic Games 2018 invited FIDE to participate in the Games as a demonstration sport.

The Olympic Games have started and no news about chess ! Has it been canceled ?
Chess has its own olympic games, separate from the other olympics.
[Insert disappointed-but-not-surprised comment about FIDE's running]
It was just another hot-air-balloon concocted by Mr. President. It has cooled down long ago, in fact it has never flown.
I also read a rumour that ski-jump-biathlon was to be demonstrated (in which each athlete tries to shoot the following competitor's skis off during his jump phase). Probably just as well-founded as the chess rumour.

PS the men's combination event is taking place this afternoon, Mr. Ilyumzhinov will probably turn the tele on and be disappointed to see people on skis with not a chessboard in sight ...
