Cheating

When you've played enough games it becomes fairly obvious when your opponent is cheating via computer assistance. Sometimes the moves are so crisp and consistent, especially when it's a sub 1500 opponent, that it really takes the fun out of playing here IMHO. Well, not an opinion. It's a fact that I don't like playing and being cheated against. Not a knock on Lichess really. Whether you can or can't stop cheating it's just not worth it to pursue any remedy. Just my 2 cents.
Engine cheating is the #1 issue of online chess and even of over the board chess like hidden phones.
It is the primary reason why top players prefer bullet online.
There are probably not that much sub 1500 players that cheat: if they cheat, then their rating goes up.
What is the obsession with cheating? In my view it takes the fun away of chess if you are constantly wondering about if your opponent may cheat.

I only had one instance where I thought that my opponent was using computer advice. It btw was not a long and elaborate combination but simply a protection move that somehow felt "non-human". I did not report him because I couldn't prove my suspicion. But sure enough - the next day I got a message about a rating refund (I lost that game) and my opponent was flagged as a cheater. So the Lichess algorithm already detected it by himself.

That's my take on the whole thing - if someone is a cheater he will be detected sooner or later.
Detected how? There are ways to make your rating sink to 800 and never be detected, though i will not give anybody ideas how to do this...

The idiocy of people who play on online casinos always amazes me. Online casinos, imagine that!
At some point I also thought most of games I played were against cheaters. The reason for it was that I was working on my chess a lot. I could't believe I lost a single game to somebody of my own or lower rating. It must had been a computer cheater. But then after losing several games in a row for a week I finally realised that my rating was inflated. After dropping over 100 points I stopped to lose 90% of games and I stopped to suspect a cheater in every game. Suddenly opponents didn't crush me and I was able to win again. Trainig a lot gives a false feeling of improvement and horrible feeling after losing. It's a trap. You start to see cheaters everywhere.

What do you mean by that? You think I could make my own rating sink to 800 without being detected? Yes I can do this. Easily. So...?

Or do you really suggest you as an opponent can make my rating go to 800? In which case I wish you good luck with that!

There's a fundamental difference between playing at Lichess and playing at an online casino. Do you want me to explain it to you?
Yes, explain and use 2 pages to do so cause I am very very slow.
