Challenge: Mating Stockfish 8 the fastest!

We are all tired of hearing how weak Stockfish 8 plays. Endless victories after the famous Zug-Miracle stockfish appears in a bad light. As a result, there is now a new challenge: How many seconds do you need to mate Stockfish 8?

I'm not the fastest player on the planet, but to make a start, I have this game to offer:


I have tried several times to undercut this game, but with 1.8 seconds it is currently my only game under 2 seconds. The long rook move 36.Rh8+ costs me as a untrained ultra player almost a whole second and Stockfish gets really fast when it sees the mate coming...

How long did it take you to memorize the entire thing?

He's replaying a known sequence of moves that make the engine blunder. You can reproduce the exact same game by playing the same moves as white.

yeah, that's how zug got his miracle trophy, Mollus just memorized it

@thibault With black it's more difficult, a won position can achieved while premoving but then I'm way too slow in the end:

No need to be salty here, it's just my way to show that a random generator within the engine would have it's benefits. ;)

As pointed out correctly Stockfish plays in the same position very very likely (but not always! - > thats interesting!) the same moves, leading to the same games over and over again. Thus, in the analysis Stockfish 8 helped me to defeat itself the next game. Each of you with too much time can memorize the moves and repeat this game to boast on the internet that you have defeated Stockfish 8.

It would still be dishonest to "boast on the internet that you have defeated Stockfish 8", as it was to pretend that the engine is weak.

I agree that some randomness would make this impossible, but I don't think it's worth doing it, because, well, who cares.
