Can ultra be considered a variant?

As my name suggests, i only play variants. But i've seen some people saying ultrabullet is a variant. I mean, its just normal chess but super fast. Your thoughts?

well. the strategies due to extreme time control, seem unique to that. and would not apply in slower time control.

of course. one would have to find where those strategies fall off and time control is reduced.

but commit premoves without the last position information, seems like a nature of the game difference.

not really complete information about the past when you commit your move. one could say there is some gambling going on. managed perhaps. but sizable. I never played, but keep reading about it in here...

The 'real' VariantsOnly seems to have played plenty of ultra bullet games, so I would not hold back ;-)
