Can I re-use a nickname of a closed account?

I like a nickname of one closed account, is there any chance/way that I will be able to re-register this account? Do they expire and got deleted after some time?

P.S: closed account is not mine account.

You could add something to the name

Closed accounts can be reopened any time. That's why their names stay reserved.
