Calculating and avoiding blunders?

Does anyone have any tips on calculating positions to avoid making blunders in advance?
A little while back I started playing a lot of tactical puzzles and I started using arrows and circles to help visualize things. Also if you play correspondence or play against stockfish you have access to the analysis board, where you can create your own lines. Also the post game analysis board is great too.
There is a clear distinction between long term strategy, short term tactical calculation and ovoiding blunders.
Never calculate during opponent's turn, use opponent's turn to make general strategical long term considerations: what pawn moves to make or to avoidn, what trades to aim for and what to avoid.

During your own turn, identify the candidate moves and then calculate the possible lines and evaluate.
Always start from scratch, do not trust your own calculations from a move earlier.

Once you have decided on your move, before making it, check it is no blunder. With all long term considerations and long calculations, it may happen that you miss the obvious. You can activate move confirmation in your profile: think about your move, play it, check it is no blunder, confirm it.
