Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

#kokkko I suppose the big difference is that chess.com is somewhat polite, while Thibault reacts with honest emotion, discorauged about the false advertisement and with undoubtless sarcasm. While being honest amd behaving this way, he is at the same time open to admit some misjudgement about the situation. But we all know that his concerns are probably well oriented and the whole Regium staff is just a horrendous scam, trying to make a dishonest activity to get money from chess fans. And that is of course very disheartful. Chess.com reacted in his own way and Thibault in another way. Both of them are very useful for all of us.
I just read through the chess.com forum, the guys there have uncovered the same issues as here at about the same time. Maybe some contributed to both. Only difference is there was a troll speaking aggressively for Regium - until they uncovered the faces hoax, at which time he disappeared.
Chess.com is in an awkward position because they got sponsorship money from Regium and some could interpret it as support. They are trying to make their position as clear as possible before the kickstarter but somehow the evil is done.
It's odd that the only two photographs on their About Us page that yield reverse image searches that have non-Regium related results connected to them also just happen to be the only two photographs of "staff" that don't have identical image formatting as that previously-linked fake image website.

At this point i'm pretty confident this company is a scam, and will never release a product working as demonstrated.

Edit: If Regium Chess would like to sue me then please send all correspondence care of GoldDustTori (Twitch Partner and MENSA Member), Twitch Street, Twitchville, Twitchland, TW1 7CH.
Kind Regards,
Tori.

quote @thibault
We felt like we had a moral obligation to make that post

Never trust moral obligations, they may lead into darkness

bye forum
Alright, bye? What is that quote even supposed to mean lol... Well anyways in this case moral obligations brought a scam to light so I think lichess has done a great job.
The sad thing about this whole situation is timing. If the scam run a little big longer and the Kickstarter campaign started, the police would have more evidence. Now there is some chance that the dishonest people behind the fake webpage and videos will escape the justice. (And maybe start a different fraud somewhere else.)
Kickstarter will not refund. It isn't a shop, no-one would be buying a product at all. You would pledge money to support a project. If the project fails then you are out of luck.
