Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

@drbeco
You do remember that whoever is behind this scam threatened legal action against lichess? The community is fully entitled and to a certain extent even obliged to uncover the entirety of this scam.
Just saying...
Also it’s not like bad marketing is going to help them. If people hear about it but all they hear is negative things, they’re not gonna support the kickstarter.
I personally want this board to be real and connect ti lichess, that's my birthday wish.
@centralchef

Yes, good reminder. They contact lichess with a threat first.

But I still think they are getting free marketing for that empty threat.
just in case:
if this board comes off, better and free marketing they could not wish
Came back to see what's going on, and I have to admit that, albeit amusing, all this makes me very sad. losing proportions over this thing only shows how brutal the web thing can go for both sides. To me, this is obviously a mutual over-reaction. These reguim guys indeed sent a silly email, and they paid for it with their reputation, but on the other hand, if they really aimed and managed to make a nice new board.. well, they sure don't deserve a public hanging. The world has got much, much bigger problems (and scammers). all this community energy could and should (and does, mostly!) go to a positive end, and not to web-lynching.

Regarding the question wether it's real or not, I find it extremly unlikely that someone would make the effort of shooting these videos, setting a website and all that for an e-chess board that would sell only to enthusiats, via online payment systems that can be traced to the root. I mean, seriously? Incredible narrative.

I guess we don't have to wait long, only a day and 16 hours to find out, according to their website.
Is there some Spanish speaking person that would like to ask Alfonso about his relation to the REGuM company from asome disposable email address http://www.alfonsobalcells.es/contacto/?

There are two answers and four positive (x) negative combinations :) - if he says he's out (which he shouldn't say when he's in) then it's a hoax if he says he's in maybe he would say something interesting - the only unwanted option is when he says he's in but he's not in the company and learned anything from us :) and just wanted to make joke out of a lie. And also he might just not answer, but if he's not commited to work with Regum he would be happy that he was asked about it.

Its not necessary but still could disprove the project as Alfonso is the only person with any world wide web reputation :)

@lakinwecker - when did the popcorn run out? :)
Here is a high quality video from them. Not sure if they already released it. All metadata on the archive and the video say they created them on February 21th.

Maybe someone with video editing expertise skills could find more evidence of any possible trickery.
So, has anyone dropped an email to kickstarter yet? They might be interested and ask a few questions of Regium themselves.
