Invisible Pieces: Women in Chess

This is such melodramatic hog. Save these posts for the 1850s, in 2020 and in the West we are seeing the freest societies and if women don't feel drawn to play chess then it is not up to us to socially engineer this.

Not everything is an evil conspiracy with some patriarchal schemers oppressing and abusing women. You should feel ashamed for writing that many paragraphs perpetuating one half-cooked assertion about sex and gender that you call brave as every corporation shouts it at us in lectures in lockstep.

Yes you are so brave for talking about critical gender theory. Amazing. You and every other major publication and institution. Talking down to everyone else. Should we feel guilty for other people's shit sandwich when we still have our own shit sandwich to eat?

Cry me a river, I hope people will be able to earn money next winter while you cry about symbolic nonsense.
i'm kind of feeling bad because i tend to make satirical comments in relation to how other people act toxic towards women in the chess community but at a glance they could be perceived as equally toxic without knowing my penchant for sarcasm. it was a thought provoking and well-researched piece.
then there's everyone coming in droves to basically prove the exact point of the piece.
I couldn't read all (because of that was so long and my English can't understand it) but congrats!
"So what else is there? To the men reading, I would urge you to consider whether your own actions make the community a better or a worse place for women. I would ask you whether you, genuinely, despite what you’d say publicly, do think that women are inherently incapable, and then I would ask you to reflect honestly on your answer. Treat any women you encounter as fully-fledged human beings, because we are. We just want to play chess, same as you."

As a man reading this, thank you. I can admit publicly to have said and done some things that didn't make this place (chess community) a better place for anyone, especially women. But I try to be a better person, and if every man tried to do the same, inherently we would make this a better place for the few women who endure all of this just to try to play some chess.
