Ask me any chess question?

I do not understand why people would say chess960 is not chess. I like chess960 cause it avoids opening theory and makes one plan on move 1. But opening theory is a big part of chess and won't really be undone with, so chess960 cannot become to mainstream in chess.

Computers analyze classical chess because they have just become to strong. Our world champion stands little chance against the top computer, but computers still lack a strategical understanding and some positional concepts, so I do not like how much people actually reply on computers.
What is the best chess software for the amateur chess player to improve his/her game? Fritz, Chessmaster, etc .. ???

Well that depends on a few things, out of Chessmaster or Fritz, Chessmaster.

Josh Waitzkin lessons in chess master are very good.

If you enjoy reading, The complete idiot guide to chess is very good. Do not be fooled by the title, it's a good book.

But if you want to get into chess, you will need 2 things.
1. A willingness to put in some effort.
2. A enjoyment for the game.

I've taught a few people from start, it takes 1 day to teach someone all the rules of chess, but will take some time teaching them to Enjoy the game. If you want more specific things to study, I would need to understand your playing strength.
