Antichess ruined my standard chess

I don't know what to say, But I feel depressed, I used to be +1700 in blitz, bullets, ever since I started playing Antichess, my standard chess skills became much worse, Making over 500 blunders per game and getting beat by players under 1400 in a tournament, just gets me really mad. How do you balance between both Antichess and standard? what am I doing wrong

Maybe stop playing antichess. Some of the other alternative forms of chess can actually help you to improve, like Chess960 or King of the Hill.

Another possibility is that the numbers of players growing up recently, the battle of ratings is harder. To me play one type of variant doesn't affect the standard playing, I just focus at the time according to the game.

I am not sure if this will help much, but I suggest consistently using a different board theme and/or piece set when playing chess and antichess. The different appearance of the board might help you keep chess and antichess ideas separate.

It's correct order of things and even much more noticeable for atomic. No need to balance, just play what you enjoy and don't expect to be good in both simultaneously (you may unlearn to play standard chess a bit (or completely), but whatever).

Oh yeah, after Atomic you feel totally drunk in normal chess :) The rating can fluctuate +-200 even without playing something else, it's normal. If you want better results in any variant, you should concentrate on it, but other variants' skills seem to just be reduced by lack of active playing, for they don't evaporate or whatever, and should return pretty quickly if you reconcentrate on it.

I was playing a couple hours of atomic each day for a couple weeks. It didn't affect my normal chess. However, after playing atomic, when looking at a normal chess position, I'd always thing who'd be winning if it were atomic. Bit weird, but I snap out of it quickly when starting a normal game.

I've had this problem if u check my profile i've played a lot of anti chess and it does effect ur chess. My cousin has 2000 fide rating and he told me strictly not to play anti because it destroys ur chess thinking and its hard to recover
