Accelerated Dragon

As everyone knows the Accelerated Dragon is reached through the Open Sicilian with 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6
But the Lichess opening explorer also names this opening 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 as the Accelerated Dragon where black plays 2.. d6 instead of the Open Sicilian.
The two positions are not even transpositions of each other they are different positions reached through different openings but the opening explorer gives them the same name of Accelerated Dragon.

I've heard that there are problems with the opening explorer name database. Is this one of those cases?
Assuming you meant to write 5...g6 in the second line you mention, that's not the Accelerated Dragon and it isn't called that in the Lichess opening book. That's just the Sicilian Dragon (or, in long form, "Sicilian Defense, Dragon Variation"). That's what the Accelerated Dragon takes its name from.
Accelerated Dragon allow easy Maroczy bind set up for white.

That is why I think it is not a top tier line for advanced players.
The star system tends to be conflated with the famous mythical beast of the same name ...
@biscuitfiend Thanks for responding. Whoops I screwed that up, what I meant to write was
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 5. Nc3

So yes, here black plays 2..d6 , instead of 2..Nc6 and the opening explorer is still calling it Accelerated Dragon.

@#6 He's saying that one of the definitions of the Accelerated Dragon is that the move d6 is not played, yet Lichess lists this d6 version as Accelerated Dragon nonetheless. The d6 version can transpose to the Dragon later on, so maybe that is the reasoning behind it?
@asdf5656 Thank you for further explaining. I was just about to do so when I saw your reply. The thing is though, this is not even a transposition as the two positions are different. Transpositions are when different move orders arrive at the same position. Here is neither the same move order nor the same position and yet they are being called the same name??
@MrPushwood
The Accelerated Dragon is arrived at through the moves 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 , correct?

Well if you look at the moves 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 5. Nc3 in the lichess opening explorer, it is calling this other set of moves the Accelerated Dragon also. A different set of moves and a different position, therefore not a transposition, and it's calling them both Accelerated Dragon . Is this an error in the lichess database?
@asdf5656
Oh , I see what you're saying that the two different positions can transpose LATER on.
I guess if there's any explanation it would have to be that but that seems really shaky because for example, I will quote wikipedia about the A.D.
"An important difference between this line and the Dragon is that Black avoids playing ...d7–d6, so that they can later play ...d7–d5 in one move, if possible."

That's the second sentence of the main article.
