Many people do not take a lot of time to study the endgame. This is unfortunate as taking the time to study the endgame increases the player's general understanding of the game. Without the study, certain key factors, particularly in blitz games likely get missed. In the most recent blitz game that I played, I was Black and I noticed a knight sacrifice on move 40. The key to this blunder-looking move is that Black's pawns are far up the board. So what looks like a time pressure inspired blunder is actually completely fine. No calculations were necessary because I recognized the characteristics of the situation, particularly regarding the pawns. It's right here:
