Looking for someone who has time to stick around and analyse games.

" I often get caught up in seeing the peices as they might be (my poor calculation and visualisation skills) rather than seeing the obvious right in front of me"
I believe that's fairly common and might happen to skilled players too in complex and long calculations, and one part of getting experience is not only seeing the obvious but also remembering that you might be having such a blind/day-dreaming moment, i.e to keep yourself checked.

A good measure against that is to activate move confirmation in your profile.
You think about your move, you play it, you check it is no blunder, then you confirm it.
Eradicating blunders from your play is the first step in getting better.
It is also more enjoyable than to lose a won game by a blunder.
