Came across this puzzle today. Made my chess knight day !
The knight is my favourite piece, I solved the puzzle, but I promoved the pawn to a queen, first I promoved, then I moved my knight away (the one on f6 to d5, dominating e7, after that I captured the black knight so the king needs to flee to the 8th rank, after that Qc7, what is a checkmate.

Promotion to queen by white would let black promote with check on a1. So, basically you need to keep "checking" the black king the whole time. No time for quiet moves.
The official solution from the puzzle is in chapter two.
I didn't double check it with an engine.
