i really like to play sicilian that way... i guess best to reply is 3...e5, when you have already played d6 in move 2... very often i saw, white getting advantage with blacks najdorf or dragon setup
And against 2. ... e6!?
Don’t you dare!
According to the masters database 3...e5 and 3...Bg4 score both better for black so what is the point of 3.c4?

yes e6 is good to play for black, but very often they dont play e6... i mean its not bad for white as well, c4 works against every sicilian setup in my opinion
its probably not better than 2. d4, but white avoid variants with a lot of theory and isnt worse at all, that is the point of 2. c4
most sicilian players faced with main lines as black, so if white plays c4 all the time in move 3.white has maybe a practical advantage, because he played it more often than the opponent

I don't understand your comment, 2.c4 comes before 2...e6, surely?

you can play it in move 2 or 3 i guess, i dont know if it makes a difference

Arguably, the move 2.Nf3 was achieving nothing to support the King's Bishop advance then anyway, so it could have been played second - but, if the flank pawn is played next as a gambit, wouldn't this remove your Queen's Bishop Pawn anyways?
GM secret, there is a problem with an early c4, it allows an easy d5. And Nf3 doesn't help.

hi thx @Sarg0n
i didnt know this opening is so bad, but some lines i really dont like with this setup now with white... i played many years main variants in sicilian and was faced with so many variants.
i play sicilian as well with black, before i played 1.e4 e5 with black, but somehow i have the feeling that white has all options which opening to choose and black is only reacting to whites move in 1.e4 e5, but at least black has good opportunity for equal game
when i have the white pieces, i always had a better feeling to win the game, when my opponent play 1.e4 e5 and felt a bit uncomftable when he played 1.e4 c5
thats why i play it with black as well
the last games i didnt played 2. or 3. c4 but c3, with good reults... i dont like the main variants in sicilian, its hard to remember all the lines for me, especially when i dont play chess for some month, i can start again to learn all the lines, thats why i try some sidelines
