I didn't really understand this post. Why do you call division 4 - the one you're now playing in - 'the big league'? Aren't there 5 divisions? So really it's a lower division? ('Can my local chess club handle the second lowest division?' would have been a more accurate title, no?)

I think the whole point is to show how to club has gone from the lowest point and advanced. Maybe it is a joke I don't quite know? Either way well done to them...

It seemed like clickbait or bullshit to me, which I tend to dislike. I've no problem with posting about this, and no ill will towards the poster; I'd just prefer a more straightforward title (like 'Can we stay up after promotion?').

I guess... Either way it IS an improvement so they can celebrate.
It looks as if they may get promoted again.
It's subjective what you find "big". This season played two games in a higher level of regional team leagues (5th out of 7 in the country) and it surely felt more tough and more serious than the lowest two I'm used to. But for some it's just "village league"...

There are 6 divisions, so while the 4th division isn't that high, we're a relatively small club. The clubs in the higher divisions are significantly larger and have more higher rated players on their teams.
So when I call division 4 the big leagues, it's not meant to be serious. All it means is that for a small club like ours, it's a big step up.
