The French Chess Championship 2024 | Open is a 16-player knockout tournament with the best ranked French players and awards the title of French champion held from the 16th to the 25th of August at the L’Alpe d’Huez, France.

The format will be 2 classical games with time control 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes to finish the game, with a 30 second increment from move one. In case of a tie, two games of rapid 15+10 are played; if still tied, two games of blitz 5+3, and if still tied, an armageddon game 5 vs. 4.
