About me

I am an 18-year-old college student at Stanford University who became an International Master at 15. I had some great coaches who helped me get to this level, and I know what it takes to improve rapidly. I would love to share these secrets (which have helped my brother hit 2250 at 12 and many other student reach expert and national master level). DM me on lichess, email at sandeepchesse4@gmail.com, or text at (480) 404-4904 to discuss lessons if you are interested.

Teaching experience

I have been teaching for almost 5 years now with my highest-rated student Roshan Sethuraman reaching National Master at the age of 11, becoming a National Champion, and qualifying multiple times for Team USA at World Youth Championships. Other students have also placed within top 5 at nationals and qualified to World Youth, reached National Master and many have reach expert level.

Former coach for Magnus Chess Academy

Best skills

Creating strong intuition. Intuition is perhaps the most overlooked part of being a strong chess player and is what leads to strong calculation and positional play. I will teach you how to instinctually know which moves to examine deeply in any given position, avoiding blunders and making calculation far more efficient.

Teaching methodology

In the first lesson, I will assess the current playing level, especially weaknesses and strengths in the student's game. Further lessons will be dedicated to two main topics, covering holes in the game and strengthening them, and also teaching how to play to your strengths and lead games to positions that you feel comfortable in.
