About me

My name is Ellen, I'm 22 years old, and from Denmark. My parents are chess players, so I have played chess since the age of 10. I currently study - but only half-time - and then I spend my other time teaching and training chess. I'm serious about my own chess, and I try to improve by studying every day and regularly competing in tournaments.

Playing experience

I have 12 years of experience playing chess. At the age of 15, I won the Danish Women's Chess Championship, and not so long after that I joined the Women's National Team. I have represented Denmark at two Olympiads and numerous World- and European Championships, and in 2020 I beat my first Grandmaster.
I have three WIM-norms and a peak rating of 2209.

Teaching experience

I have more than five years of experience teaching both groups and individuals on all levels of chess. I have taught in chess clubs, privately, and plenty online. Furthermore, I have also spent much time doing commentary and promoting chess mainly via my Twitch channel and other social media.

Teaching methodology

I believe that serious chess training can and should be fun and interactive. If you think something is fun, you'll want to spend more time on it as well. In my classes, we focus on your improving your weaknesses through the study of your games and your thinking process. Of course, if there's something that you want us to focus on (for example, opening or endgame), we will make sure to include that. I personalize the lessons so they suit you, and if you ever have any questions, you can always ask.
