French Women's Championship 2022 is a 16-player knockout tournament held from the 12th of August to the 21st in Le Sequestre, France.

Each round consists of a 2-game match. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment beginning from move one.

Should a match end in a tie, a 2-game rapid playoff match shall be played. The rapid time control is 15 minutes with a 10-second increment beginning from move one. If still tied, 2-game blitz playoff match shall be played. The blitz time control is 5 minutes with a 3-second increment beginning from move one. If still tied, an Armageddon game shall be played. The time control for Armageddon is 5 minutes for white, 4 minutes for black, and 3-second increment starting on move 61.
