The 3rd El Llobregat Open will be held from the 30th of November to the 8th of December near Barcelona, Spain as a 9-round Swiss. The strong field will feature 55 GMs and 51 IMs brawling over the €43450 prize pool (of which €10,000 will go to the winner). Open complementary activities, such as speed-chess matches, will be held alongside the main tournament.

Time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with a 30-second increment beginning from move 1.
