Stats about the Lichess Bundesliga

Since the beginning of the Lichess League in March 2020 a year and a half ago, in the meantime already 165 editions with a total number of 811.000 participations with more than 80.000 unique players who took part in at least one Liga. In total, already more than 6450 different league arenas were played and featured 4.8 million games. In these games, white scored 48% wins, 8% draws, and 44% losses. The average berserk rate is 20.1%, and the average rating is 2016.

Tonight the 165th edition of the Lichess Bundesliga took place with about 530 teams and 4899 participants in total.

In the Lichess Bundesliga, the two German teams (both from Berlin/near Berlin) "Team Entwicklung & Kompensation" (Team development & compensation) & SK König Tegel promoted from last league's edition besides the Belarussian team Chessmaste & Friends. Both Team Entwicklung & Kompensation and Chessmaste & Friends didn't stay in the top 7 and will have to move to Bundesliga 2 the next time.

Congrats to На Западе Москвы, who are currently one of the strongest teams in the Liga within the last few times, once with an appeareance by GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. The growing multi-national team Dark Horse was following them behind and secured the 2nd spot. In all leagues except the third, the first 3 teams will promote to a higher league, teams 4-7 stay, and teams 8-10 move down to the next lower league. Time controls rotate between 3+0, 3+2 and 5+0 to have a nice mix of different Blitz time controls, where everyone has their strengths and weaknesses among them.

I'd also like to thank all the Team leaders and organizers, who put a lot of time and energy into informing their players about the next leagues always.
