Chess is a Skill-Based Game
There is no luck in chess. As always, opinions are my own, not those of Lichess.org.
Knowing your endgames cold helps, although you still need to play the opening and middlegame well. Playing off-beat openings can surprise both players!

The entire topic of whether "luck" exists in a game without randomness is simply an argument over definitions. Many players talk about "luck" but these games calcify that concept.
Obviously my losses are my own fault; it's not as if random chance prevented me from drawing or winning. And yet players are convinced that "luck" exists... well, in some sense it does, but opportunism also exists.
Never interrupt an opponent while they are making a mistake!
