Played chess at schoolboy level for WP during the 'no normal sport in an abnormal society' days. At competition level, my best OTB win was against an IM (author of The Latvian Gambit) on the Black side of a Benko. Made a return to chess recently from my sojourns in Scrabble where I have won the Nationals (2013). Played at the World Scrabble Champs for Germany 2007.
