Completing 3 successful years in Lichess !!

This blog is uploaded on 1st October, 2024 at 7.45 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). I have started playing chess in the year 2021. Made a Lichess account on 1st October, 2021 at 7.45 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). It is unbelievable that I had completed 3 years playing chess. In the beginning I used to play tournaments and would get Scholar Mated. Now I am 1750 ELO online player who has beaten a 1400+ FIDE rated Over the Board. So, the transformation is very drastic. I have played 2,877 games until now and won 1,425, lost 1,353 matches and drew 99 matches. Most of the games that I have lost are of Bullet. I am not that good in Bullet but managed to cross 1700 in it also. My blitz rating is not improving trying to work on it.

How to see the date and time when you joined Lichess ?

If you do not know how to see the date and time when you joined Lichess follow these steps.

  2. Now click on Inbox.

Is Lichess a perfect chess application ?

Yes, Lichess is almost a perfect chess application. It has everything that a serious chess player needs. Only problem is that we cannot premove more than a single move. One more problem I have noticed is that you can also make a move when you have no time. For example- I was playing a Bullet game and my opponent had no time ( zero millisecond ) but still managed to make a move and me who had 0.3 millisecond took a second a move and I lost the game. If Lichess could fix these problems it would be perfect application.

Experience in Lichess...

It is a very good application indeed. The experience is very nice, I enjoy playing chess in this application. Puzzles are also great and practicing puzzle in different types of time control is also great.

Chess as hobby of mine...

Playing chess since 2019 but played seriously from 2022.Have been selected for Interschool Chess Competition for last 3 years. Participated in Nerul Gymkhana 2022, Father Agnel 2023, DSO Chess 2024 (not yet done) and NBSA 2024. I used to attend online chess classes in 2019 till 2021. I played a few Over the Board Tournaments from my side and others from the side my School for Inter-School Chess Competition.

I played first chess tournament in the year 2021 and ended up winning 3 matches out of 7. Then played another tournament in the year 2022 scoring 4 wins out of 9 and played my first game against a FIDE rated player, I lost but the game went for very long and everyone was watching my game. Then my first Inter-School Tournament in 2022, I scored 3.5 out of 6 matches and our school secured first position. I had improved my playing style from my previous tournaments. Then comes one Inter-School again in 2023, I scored 3 out of 4 matches and our school secured third position. Then comes my second-best tournament and one of my worst tournaments I have ever played, I won 3 matches, drew 2 matches and lost 2 matches out of 7 matches. This tournament is my second best as I beat a 1428 FIDE rated player brutally. And the one of the worst tournaments as I lost a completely winning game and drew a completely winning endgame as I was low on time.

I played a practice tournament where I scored 4 wins out of 5 matches. I beat the 1428 FIDE rated player whom I had beaten in my previous tournament and lost to 1500+ FIDE rated player. Then comes my best tournament so far, as I won all the matches that I played in my NBSA 2024 Inter-School tournament. In of the game I played my favourite "Alien Gambit".
