The Problem with Puzzles
Read on to find out what is the problem with puzzles online! The problem with puzzles on chess websites such as Chess.com, Lichess, etc. is that after you reach a certain puzzles ELO, the puzzles become almost
impossible to solve. These unfortunate puzzles that players with high puzzle ELOs (like me) have to encounter are called "computer puzzles". Computer puzzles have solutions that make no sense, which makes players at that level more discouraged to play puzzles.
This is also a problem on Chess.com, with the "best" puzzle players having an insane amount of Puzzle ELO consistently, solving multiple computer puzzles. Obviously these so called "high rated" puzzle players are putting the position into Stockfish to find the best move(s) for the puzzle, which I have a lot of proof for (as their actual ratings are incredibly low).
So, what is the solution for overcoming these computer puzzles? Well, there is a very good chess website that you can use for puzzles that are selected by HUMANS, so the solutions for the puzzles aren't computerish in any way. This website is called ChessTempo, and I highly recommend it if you still want to pursue your tactical training!
Thanks to @ChessNutDerek for introducing me to ChessTempo.
