Hi Lichess members..

let me introduce myself... im Nik Farouqi from Malaysia and many chess friends already know that my chess id profile is Carlseng..

A lot of people ask me, why Carlseng? the reason is simple.. im just a fan of Magnus Carlsen because of his chess game style and also he also quite active playing football and do other things like modelling and business enterpreuners... The reason i add 'G' behind the Carlsen name is in Malaysia, there is 1 state in Malaysia that is Terengganu, they addG behind any words that end with letter N. im not from terengganu, but i borrow the idea just to show that this user id are from Malaysia..

At first i plan to hide who is using this id so that people wont prepare against me in real chess tournament in my country... i open this account in chess.com under norwegian flag.. the origin country of Magnus Carlsen. I also put my profile picture with Magnus face wearing the eye cover meaning that im not the real Magnus. Hopefully, this will not offence anyone.. Now after many years playing online.. and im not the type to always create new account to play because i hate to waste my time to remember new email address and password... so i just tell my friend that my id is Carlseng so that we can play online...

Then.. in year 2016 one friend introduce Lichess to me and i quite sceptical about free chess server but as its free, lets give it a try and i register Carlseng id before any other player take this id. im quite amaze on how Lichess look after their website seriously... as i still play in chess.com once a while, i admit that i play more in lichess and all my students are compulsary to have lichess account if they want to learn chess with me untill now.
