Where is the ACO located?
The Amateur Chess Organization has its headquarters near Stuttgart, Germany. Founders and tournament organizers are GM Falko Bindrich and IM Tobias Hirneise.

Who can enter the ACO tournaments?
Any chess player with a rating below 2400 is eligible to participate in the World Amateur Chess Championship. All players 50 years and older are eligible to participate in the World Senior Chess Championship. All players 65 years and older are eligible to participate in the World Super Senior Chess Championship.

How does the ACO promote amateur chess?
