Elite Chess Knockout League Team
No old leagues work, because it is old fashioned.
As I said before the old leagues didn’t work out, whether it is Swiss Tournaments, Arena Tournaments or Team Battles. They are very fun and exciting for you at first. You win, you lose and you win again. But after a few tournaments, you feel like you are missing something. The excitement is missing. You could almost predict what would happen. ‘The rules are so old fashioned’, you think. That is because you haven’t tried anything new for a long time. Just think for a minute. Why is the Solo Blitz League of @DarkOnCrack so popular? That is because it is something new, something you have never tried. You just want to add a new flavor to your everyday chess life. And you are not wrong. Before, the only thing you had was Swiss Tournaments, Arena Tournaments and Team Battles, and the most exciting thing that ever happened until the Solo Blitz League of @DarkOnCrack, was the Shield tournaments and the Summer, Autumn, Spring and Winter Marathons.
Introducing . . . The Knockout Leagues
The ordinary tournaments let’s you gain points when you win, but you only keep those points in that tournament and no matter how you preform, you will be able to play in the next one (with the exception of some Team Battles) which really beats the excitement of the tournament. Meanwhile, the idea of @DarkOnCrack let’s you keep your points and collect them which is really not fair for latecomers. So, in summary we only have tournaments that let’s you gain points and you can play in the next one no matter what. So why not have one that is more exciting and fun? I, @A_Chess_King_Player, thought that why not try knockout league because it fits all of the above. It has been never tried on Lichess.org so we can all have some fun playing something that was never tried on this website. So, I made a team called Elite Chess Knockout League, so everyone can join this team and experience it.
The rules of the Knockout Leagues
So, everyone will start at round 1 where you need to reach a certain rank in an Arena Tournament to qualify for the next phase. Next, the players that reach a certain ranking would qualify immediately for round three. The other players that also qualified would be facing another challenge at round two. For the next phase, I will be splitting the players into groups of three and putting them into separate tournaments to compete. The first place of these tournaments will be proceeding to the next phase. Now, I will be keeping the next part quiet because I don’t want to spoil everything by telling you. I know this sounds a little complicated but you would get it as we start playing! We will be starting with 5 leagues: The Ultrabullet Knockout League, The Bullet Knockout League, The Blitz Knockout League, The Crazyhouse Knockout League and The Chess960 Knockout League. If these leagues works well, I will be making much more like The Three-Check Knockout League, The Rapid Knockout League, The Classical Knockout League and many more. I will also be testing with Swiss Knockout Leagues. And I will be hosting regular tournaments for normal play!
