Wouldn't you love team battles and tournaments?

I guess this is a feature request, and lichens docs state that this is the right topic for feature requests.

Don't you guys think that team battles and team tournaments would fit great into lichess? With a team battle history on the team profile page. Maybe even a random match-generating for small teams like 3x3.

I would really love this feature. As of now we have to organise the team fights ourselves which has a lot of issues that go with it. BTW, let me know if you're up for a team fight :)
Many would, but without a format supported by lichess it seems there is no interest in an event that is simply advertised in a forum. I tried advertising a team (correspondence) event along the lines of USCF's yearly OTB Team Championships, was met by a few questions and no commitments. Credibility, support, easy access to results etc. are all expected before players will sign up. A Developer needs to take interest and devote alot of time in writing the necessary code. Thibault has said it will happen in the future, in the meantime we wait.

I think with a few successes by qualified individuals in organizing said events, with increased demand in the forums, team tournaments may come about sooner than later. But it's generally difficult to start up. A page needs creating for participants viewing of sign-ups, pairings and results. Disputes are bound to occur where an experienced arbitrator is required. Players would expect more than just a one time done and gone event. If such events are not officially sponsored/conducted by lichess the interest is greatly reduced. Myself, I would play a one time event if the parameters were suitable.

Team events is an excellent way to draw the chess community together. Players of similar interests, geographical proximity, age, profession etc. ... the list goes on, sign up for the event. They provide something to look forward to, a commitment is made while encouraging a player to play his very best.

I would think correspondence play would be the place to start up team events.
